Associate in Science Degree

Students who are interested in the College Transfer majors listed below will follow the Associate in Science Degree program of study. Elective hours will focus on transfer major of interest and college or university requirements.

  • Chemistry and Chemistry Education
  • Engineering
  • Mathematics
  • Nursing
  • Psychology
  • Teacher Preparation

Associate in Science, Engineering Degree

Students who are interested in transferring to a public, four-year engineering institutions in North Carolina to pursue a Baccalaureate Degree in Engineering will follow the Associate in Science in Engineering Degree (A10400AE).

Elective hours will focus on transfer major of interest and college or university requirements.

Associate in Science in Teacher Preparation Degree

Students who are interested in the College Transfer majors listed below, to pursue a career in teaching, will follow the Associate in Science in Teacher Preparation Degree program of study. Students are encouraged to meet with their assigned advisor to ensure the appropriate General Education Electives are chosen for their pathway based on their institution of transfer. In the state of North Carolina, to become a licensed lead teacher in the K-12 education system, individuals must also obtain a bachelor's degree and pass a licensure exam. 

  • Elementary Education (K-5th grades) 
  • Middle Grades Education with a focus on Math or Science (6th-8th grades)
  • High School Education with a focus on Math or Science (9th-12th grades)
  • STEAM Education
  • Teacher Assistant (transfer not required)
